I am currently finishing my three year diploma at Niagara College in Business Administration - Operations Management and will be completed school and ready to re-start my career in May of 2008. I have a well rounded background in Business, Education, Technology/Design and Human Resources, giving me a fresh perspective on projects and challenges many businesses face. My overall career goal is to be involved in Project Management, however am also interested in learning everything the business world has to offer.

My experiences at Niagara College through my Co-op work placement in the Scheduling Department, education, and student leadership activities, have had a solid impact on my level of professionalism and knowledge of Operations and Project Management. Most Recently, my position in the Scheduling taught me the art of planning and time management. Also, how to appropriately handle difficult situations through problem solving and negotiation. I gained solid experience working with PeopleSoft, Access and TPHi software, and how different databases. My involvement in student leadership at Niagara College, as both Board of Governors Representative , and Director of Communications and Media on Niagara College Student Administrative Council, has lent the opportunity for me to network with various college staff and administration and prominent local business people, learning and impacting the inner workings of an organization. I have also been involved with ACE Niagara, peer tutoring, and have won several awards for academics, community involvement and student initiatives I participated in driving forward, including the Colleges Ontario Award for Student Innovation and a 2nd Level National Millennium Excellence Award. Furthermore, my education and training have given my knowledge in ERP System, Planning and Control, Quality Management, SAP, and numerous other Operations Management Concepts.

Before returning to college to obtain my diploma in Business Administration – Operations Management I had the opportunity to work for two different marketing companies, granting me many opportunities to develop my skills in Human Resources and Administrative capacities. During my time with Inteleservices I created and maintained several successful recruitment, reward and employee development initiatives that were implemented in their Canadian and US centers. I worked directly with the Vice President of Operations, and focused on attracting and retaining the best candidates. I was able to flourish in this position through my ability to deal with a wide variety of people and consistently identify and address inefficiencies in various systems. Through my employment at Telespectrum Canada I had the opportunity to explore many different facets of running a successful business. As Office Manager I worked one-on-one with the Call Centre Manager and learned valuable knowledge about operations, cost management, and managing the day to day functions of a large business. I learned the value of hard work and will not rest until a job is completed properly.
